
Tandoori chicken or chicken tandoori is an Indian dish, which is usually roasted in oven (tandoor), hence the name tandoori. The chicken is marinated in yogurt, tandoori masala and sometimes some yellow/red coloring is added. It can be prepared in an oven or on a grill. Since I possess none of the two, I decided to find another way to cook chicken tandoori as it is one of my favorite foods! I marinate the chicken pieces with yogurt, cumin powder and little turmeric powder for the color. Simply exquisito!
Tandoori chicken recipe
Ingredients:
300g chicken breast, cut in medium cubes
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 cup of yogurt
1/2 tsp ginger-garlic-red chillies paste
salt
coriander leaves, chopped
Steps:
1. Mix all the ingredients together.
2. Marinate in fridge for at least 1 hour or overnight.
3. Heat oil in a pan. when hot, add the marinated mixture. Cook on medium heat.
4. Cook the chicken pieces until most of the water has evaporated and the mixture has thickened.
5. Lower the heat and continue cooking for a further 2-3 minutes.
6. Done!

You can also let the chicken to be more dry if you want or allow some sauce as you did…I prefer the dried version, I get the flavor of the lemon juice (a little sweet-sour tangy taste….)…
